It is a city that lives life to its fullest, twelve months a year. There are adventures to be had at every corner – on the streets, on the stages, at the museums and in the parks. There are many reasons why Stockholm is the natural Capital of Scandinavia. One is that Stockholm is positioned at the heart of the region, and enjoys the benefits of a world-class transport infrastructure. Another is that Stockholm is the largest city in the largest country in Scandinavia. Stockholm is located 50 mins away by train from Vasteras. Transportation means are tunnel trains, buses, ferry services. On a nice sunny day we set out to visit this beautiful city having good monuments, palaces and around 74 musuems and many other attractions. ]]> Sat Apr 15 2006 Romme Alpin Ski Photos http://mayakar.fotopic.net/c911840.html Romme alpin is a place in Sweden where most people from Vasteras, love to ski. Located near Borlange (around 13 kms distance) and around 2 hours journey from Vasteras, it is one of the most preferred place for skiing as it has good tracks for learners and experts. The routes are, in order of difficulty levels assigned colors green,blue,red and black [Visit www.rommealpin.se for more info]. With our colleague Kristoffer and his girlfriend Jessica we set out for one of the best adventure sports we ever had. With the calm and friendly help from our " Ski Experts" Kristoffer & Jessica, we were able to atleast manage skiing without much tumbles in the snow. Their help plus some basics provided by the ski teacher Katharina from Romme alpin made us comfortable to ski and try more of it. A couple of falls, some pain and lots of fun, we had a nice day together. This whole exercise was total fun and i say "Sweden is Fun". Photo viewers Enjoy! (Do not envy!). ]]> Sat Apr 1 2006 Cinderella Cruise : Mariehamn Island Photos http://mayakar.fotopic.net/c898370.html Situated on the main island of the Ålands, roughly half way between the Finnish mainland and Sweden, Mariehamn has coasts on both sides, about twenty minutes walk apart but a long way by sea right round the South of the island. Cinderella Cruise, the large lovely ship from VikingLine Cruises took us to mariehamn. The cruise absolutely splendid and we had a gala time there. The interiors, restaurants, shopping centre, Fun Club,Club 7 and the casinos were having good ambience and were full of fun. With some new friends viz., Praveen (one more!), Guru, Ratnakanth,Jagat,Sukumar,Archana and ofcourse my colleagues Parimal and Anjana, I really enjoyed the cruise. Being 9 people, we really rocked the cruise! Cheers to all! Enjoy the pics! Blog would follow... I landed here in the end of winter, and it was nice to see snow melting. Black River flows through the city giving some scenic views. Malaren is the lake the city boasts off. I was there at Mt.Abu with a set of new friends. The only thing void was a digicam;somehow managed to get a fixed focus camera, n the pics are just OK. The trip however was a v. nice experience.Mt.Abu is huge and has nice places like Nakki lake, toad rock, travers point, gurushikar, some cave temples ,brahmakumari ashrams and many more temples around. The chill climate was the most liked one by us. A cool place to enjoy!. Waiting to explore more of Rajasthan. Meanwhile Check these pics out! A nice trek to the peak and towards bababudangiri from there..almost a 12 km trek we had. Hebbe falls is one beautiful falls in Kemmangundi another nice trek amidst nature for 18 kms. Bluff is one of the best falls in Karnatake from Kaveri. Amazing is the beauty of it. Talakad is just a pleasant place with sand and the Panchalingeshwara Temples..
